The Project Coordinator
Prof. Dr. Gianvito Vilé is Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano. He completed his Chemical Engineering studies in Italy and his PhD at ETH Zurich before joining Idorsia Pharmaceuticals as a Lab Head. His current research activities are centered on the design of sustainable catalytic methodologies for the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, and on the understanding of the structure and reactivity of single-atom catalysts. Professor Vilé has been recognized with several awards, including the ETH Zurich Medal, the Dimistris N. Chorafas Award, the Felder Award, and the Alfredo di Braccio prize. He is also a board member of Applied Catalysis B, ChemCatChem, ACS ES&T Engineering, and Molecular Catalysis, and an expert for the European Commission. In 2022, he was awarded an ERC Starting Grant to develop synthetic methodologies based on single-atom catalysts.
