My Background

I am Greek and I have a passion for organic synthesis and innovation. I did a BSc in Chemistry (Athens) and a MSc in Drug Design & Synthesis (VU Amsterdam). Over the last 6 years, as a Research Chemist in Drug Discovery (Symeres) and in R&D (Ajinomoto OmniChem), I participated in medicinal chemistry projects for multiple therapeutic areas and synthesized complex organic molecules. I developed, optimized and scaled-up synthetic processes for pilot and commercial campaigns.

My Project

The purpose of the project is to use sustainable solvents and develop new synthetic approaches to telescope important reaction sequences for the synthesis of APIs.

Furthermore, the project aims to use continuous flow chemistry combined with artificial intelligence to achieve greener modern automated technologies for industrial pharmaceutical applications.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under the Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie Actions grant agreement N° 101073089.
