My Background
I am Miguel, I am 28, and I am from Malaga. After earning my Bachelor's in Pharmacy from the
Universidad de Granada, I dedicated 3 years to working as pharmacist in both Spain and Ireland.
Driven by a passion for organic chemistry and an interest in green chemistry and sustainability, I
decided to pursue a Master's in Organic Chemistry at Stockholm University. Now, I feel completely
fulfilled by doing this PhD.
My Project
The objective of this project extends beyond enhancing the sustainability of established reaction
methods, it also aims to discover new reaction pathways. To do so, we make use of enabling
technologies such as photochemistry and electrochemistry, in conjunction with single-atom
catalysis, a novel class of materials characterized by isolated metals trapped on carbon nitride
supports.
